Mila and Bela Designs are a new and chic interpretation of classic European styles for children. Our collection is for kids between the ages of 0 and 8.
Mila and Bela offers parents the opportunity to dress their baby, toddler and child in clothes that are playful as well as sophisticated. Mila and Bela brings a style that is fun, and chic at the same time.
Our Goals
Innovative Design: The clothes are designed to be comfortable, while embodying both European and South American design influences. Traditional styles are adapted to in both form and function to meet the needs of children today.
High Quality Fabrics: The company has selected high quality and sophisticated fabrics such as silk dupione, pure wools, cottons, silk, and alpaca knits among others. These fabrics are specifically chosen to have a soft and gentle touch when children wear them.
Attention to Detail: The designer is personally involved and passionate about overseeing every level of producing her line, from design, selection of fabrics to ensuring the high quality of sewing and manufacture of the clothes.
Paula Cushman – About the Designer
Paula Cushman was born and raised in Argentina. At age 19, she moved to the United States to pursue a degree in Political Science at Providence College. Upon graduating, she met her American husband, moved to New York, and had four children: Tomas, Camila, Isabela, (who are twins) and Matias. While raising her children, Paula attended Parsons School of Design.
In 2007, Paula was inspired by her passion for design and her experience clothing her own four children to create a unique and high quality children’s line. In fact, Paula designs many of her garments with one of her children in mind. Paula’s twin girls have inspired her to go back to the classic styles, while adding her unique designs. In turn, her two boys have helped Paula understand the need for high quality fabrics that fulfill both form and function.
